Hi. Today I'm going to tell you about The Gods Must Be Crazy.
It is the last blog...I'm sad...

I watched this movie in the last class. This movie was very old, I watched it first time. Today, we brought some food and drink, so we watched it with eating! I was so happy because I didn't eat lunch...I want to say thank you to Jeff!

When I watched it, I realized I'm so happy. People was pleasing to get the coke glass. It is a garbage for me. However, they were thinking hard how to use it. They were tring various things. Then I thought we also learned everything like this.

In this movie,they were using everything  in the wrong way. It was funny, but I realized important things. I always forgot a little things in my life. I thought I have to appriciate enviroment around me.

My teacher "Paul" & Fire works

Hi. Today, I talk about my weekend.

On saturday, I met Paul. He is a my teacher. He was teaching English to me when I was in Japan. I like him so much because his class was always interesting. I was looking forward to see him.
On this day, he brought his son. His name is Nico:) He is sooo cute! I played with him for a long time. I want to meet him again.

After that, I went to English Bay to see fire works. I went to there first time. When I arrived at there, there were many many people. The beach was crowded with people.
At about 10 o'clock, the fire works began. It was so beautiful and wonderful. I was deeply impressed by Japanese fire works. I was glad to watch it and I was proud of Japan.

My summer has began!

My Thoughts about this class

Hi, guys! How was your weekend?
Today, I talk about my class.

First, I have to write about Michael. He is very very good and funny teacher. His class was so interesting for me. When I couldn't understand words or grammar, he always give an example and explain them to me. I was able to understand the problem easly . I really appriciate it.

Second, I could make new friends in this class. When the EASL class started, I was nervous. However, the worry has disappeared at soon because they were very kind and friendly. I also  could make chinese friends. When I talked with them, I could know different cultures and customs. It was interested for me.  We could learn each other through the class. It was precious time for me. Thank you!

Third, I think my English skill was getting better before. First, I get nervous in front of others. However, I could be able to speak and explain little by little through the practice. I didn't like TV, News Journal and presentation, but it was the most important practice to improve my English skill. I especially want to improve my spending skill more from now on. I want to talk with foreigners more and more.

Finally, I'm glad to see you guys! I could spend nice time with you. Thanks a lot. I love you... I miss you...

An exciting life is the most important for me. I want to spend exciting life everyday and I also like trying new things. When I was a child, I learned the piano and calligrapy. Both of these have learned for a long time. 
When I was a junior high school student and high school student, I have belonged to brass band club for six years. I spent exciting and precious life through these club activities ( contest, audition, practice the instrument, performance, training camp, BBQ and more). Then I made a lot of friends. I spent so exciting life with my many friends. 
Since I've come here, I also have spent exciting life. On the weekend, I usually go outside with my friends or host family. I did something new things in Canada. For example, watch a movie in English, eat the new foods, go to yoga ! 

I like spending exciting life with surrounding people.

My friends stayed at my home

Hi. Today, I talk about last weekend.

On saturday, my friends slept over my house because my host family have been to their trip. My host parents allowed me to stay their home. We talked a lot of things and cooked meal togather.
In lunch → Yaki udon, In dinner → locomoco

On Sunday, we went shopping at Metro town. I bought a new belt there. After that, we ate ramen ( Japanese noodle) at Jinya. I ate it first time. It was so delicious! 

This night, we ate tortilla, A&W burger, potato, apple pie... Probably, we were getting fat... We have to do exercise hard this week.

Do you know "Saizeriya"?

Hi. Today, I talk about "Saizeriya".

Do you know "Saizeriya"? It is the italian&cafe restaurant in Japan. Almost all Japanese know it.

This restaurant is very popular especially among school students. When I was a school student, I often went to there. Most of students go to there after school.
Why thay go to there...?, because this restaurant is very very cheap! What price do you think? Most of menu are under the $5! For example, you can eat spaghetti about $4. I think there aren't  restaurant like this in Canada. I want "Saizeriya" in Canada because I want to save money and talk with my friends for a long time. In Japan, "Saizeriya" is usually open 24hours. When you want to go, it can go at any time. It is so convinient place for me.

It is the most popular menu "Milano style doria". The price is only $2.99!

It is sarch by mistake. While you are waiting for your meal, you can try it.

I feel comfortable in "Saizeriya". I want to go there and talk with my friends.

Full last weekend

Hi. Today, I'm going to tell you about last weekend.

On friday
I ate dinner outside with my host family and host family's friends. My host mother made us special hamburg! It was used two kinds of cheese on the hamburg and source is BBQ source. It was so delicinus. I like it so much. And then I choose a lot of ingredients and made hamburger myself.

After that, I watched movie outside with my host family and friends. The movie is showed in Queen's park every friday during summer breaks. I watched movie there first time. There were many people in the park. I couldn't understand all of them, but it was so funny movie. I think that to watch the movie in English is very good things for me.  I can practice listening, so I want to go there again.

On saturday
I played the bowling with my friends.

I don't like play the bowling because I'm not good at play it. We decided punishment before game start. If I become untill the third from bottom, I had to drink alcohol. To state my
 record first, I was the last in the game. My score was so bad. I had to drink straight tequila with the second and third(Mika and Akemi) from the bottom. It was too high persent. I don't like it so much. I don't want to drink it again.

After that, we ate dinner at Gyu-kaku
(Japanese. BBQ). I've already been there before. It was the second time on that day. I ate two bowls of karubi rice! It was so delicious. I wanna go there again.

On sunday
I went to yoga in the morning with Mika, Akemi and Karen. It was free! I want to lose weight untill my trip in this summer. I'll keep on trying. I want to go there next weekend !

Any regrets

Hi. Today, I'm going to tell you about my three  regrets.

First, when I was a junior high school student, I got 99/100 on my English exam. When you looked this score first, what did you think? At first sight, it might looks good. However, I had a mistake first question. It was very very easy. My mistake was a letter. I had to answer "dog", but I have written "bog"!! I had many times to check my answer although I didn't realize. Then I was checking the only after half because I had confidence the first half answers.  I was so stupid...  If I checked all answers, I might not make a mistake.

Second, when I was a high school student, I failed entrance exams for university. I devoted myself to club activity because I belonged to brass band club as a part leader. I practiced the instrument hard everyday. I also  began to study hard when I was a third grade, but it was too late. I studied hard everyday too. However, I couldn't pass the school of my first choice. I really wanted to enter this school. To study hard one year alone, it was very very tough time for me. When I knew resalt, I felt as if my heart would burst. At the same time, I blamed myself "why I didn't began to study?" " why I didn't study more?". This experience is the most painful in my life.

Third, not having saved money for study abroad. Before I came here, I worked part-time job at the hotel. I earned a lot of money by myself, but I have spent money for my hobby and shopping at soon. I couldn't save money because I had many things whitch I wanted. However,I realized I need a lot of money to live in here. The tax are high in Canada. Most of shops are more expensive than Japan. I also have to pay tips. If I saved money, I might be able to use money more. Nowadays, I save money so that it doesn't waste.

Picnic

Hi. I write about last weekend.

On Saturday, my friend Akemi invited me picnic! Akemi is my best friend. When I was in Japan, we went to the same school. The day, Akemi 's host family prepared a lot of foods. I ate chiken, pork, salad, watermelon etc... It was so dellicious! I ate a lot of chiken.
 After that, we walked around and went to the beach. We enjoyed the ocean view and talked on the beach. The weather was pretty good so many dogs was swimming. I  wanted to swim too. I was so hot! I was so thirsty. I drank lemonade, canada dry and coke because I couldn't swim. I and Akemi almost talked in English each other. It was good speaking practice. Then I thonght to try to talk in English is important and good practice for me.

On Sanday, I ate lunch at restaurant with my friends. We watched final match of world cup. It was so good game. I was a little bit sad because I cheered Argentine. However  I was impressed by sportsmanship. I'm looking forward to watching world cup four years after. 

 

My camping life ②

Hi. I'm going to tell you about continue camping life.
On the other day, I tryed water rafting first time. I don't have pictures... Sorry. I have left all belongings because they get soaked by water.
I borrowed pictures from web site.

It was so excited! This experience is the best memory in Canada life. I want to do again! 

On the middle of rafting, I got off the boat and then I looked water fall. This water fall was surrounded by jade. It was so beautiful green. 

I did many things except for these. For example, shouted gun, went to pool, watched movie, looked at many animals and so on. 

I can't explain everything but all of them became good memories. 

I could spend previous times. Thanks a lot my host family.

My camping life ①

Hi. Today, I'm going to tell you about my camping life.

I went to Golden with my host famly. I stayed a cabin and a tent for nine days. My grandparents have this cabin. They lived close to the cabin.

One day, I went to a part of Rocky mountains. I got on the gondola. I could see so beautiful view! After arrived at a top of the mountain, we walked around the Rocky.
Then I found a lot of strange objects. I thought " What are these?". I asked my host father and he teached me what are these. This objects called "Inukshuk" . Inukshuk came from an inuit word. The means of Inukshuk is frendship, welcome, wish. It was used for Olympic's logo.

New house & Air port

Hi. I write about a new house and to went to air port.

June 21
I went to my host family's cousins new house. It was halfway through the construction. Then I was surprised because their house was so big! There were a small elevator in the house. I've never seen the elevator in a general house. I hope the house is built untill I come back to Japan. I want to go again when the all construction finished.

June 22
I went to airport with my host mother and children. Many airplanes were exhibited there. We could see the cockpit. My host children happily sat on the cockpit. I also sat on there after them. It was first time for me! There were many kinds of switch. I was excited. My host brother was crying out in excitement.
 After that I took picture with chief pilot! Had a nice day.

Birthday party & Father's day

Hi. Today, I'm going to tell you about weekend on June 14,15.

June 14
I went to my host family's friend's ( Ainsley )birthday party. She became 6 years old. There were many her friends about 10! I was surprised because the party was big. Her mother prepared a lot of foods. My host mother cooked with her. I ate a stake and two kinds of salad etc... It was so delicious!

After dinner, I watched movie with my host father because a soccer match of Japan was played on the day. Of cause we cheered Japan team. As a resalt, Japan team have lost. I was so sad. However I was fun because I could cheere Japan with my host father! He also cheered Japan team.

June 15
This day was Father's day. I gave him presents. My host father is very very kind and funny. He always help me and talk togather. I like him. I said him "Thanks a lot everyday. " and gave him presents and a letter.

This night, I ate dinner with my host famly, grand parents and cousins. Had a good time.

Communication Breakdowns

Hi. Today,I'm going to tell you about communication breakdowns.

When I talk with foreigners, I sometimes can't understand what they say. I think everyone also have experienced such a thing. When we can't understand something, most of people will change their face. After that the speaking people will explain hard. On the other hand, hearing people will try to understand hard. They usually try to understand each other. I also try to so if I can't understand.

 When I talk with my host family, I sometimes can't understand what they say. Then I ask them what does it mean?  My host family also explain it me. They often use "i pad" when they  explain something new things me. They show me many pictures. Thanks to my host family, I can understand well and remember on my eyes and ears.

In conclusions, if we can't understand what they say , we try to understand each other is very important. Then you don't forget to look their eyes and keep your smile.

Making friends

Hi. Today, I talk about how to make friends. To make friends in new place is hard because I care surrounding people. It might be tired up to person. However I think that it is also pleasant to make new friends. If I make new friends, I think chenge the my world. I might be able to get new knowledge and information. And also if you find a common hobby, you can enjoy it togather. I think you activity had better make a new friends.

Then there are two important things to me. First, to talk with many many people! Man. w oman, different age people, other country people... and so on! I think it is important to talk with many people. You will be sure to find close friends. Secound,to keep your smile. The smile makes people happy. And also first impression is very important. You shold keep smile, and someone might come your place. I want to make a lot of new friends!

My favorite celebration

Hi.Today,I talk about my favorite celebration.

My favorite celebration is seven-five-three festival. This celebration is hold on November 15th.When the boys aged three or five and girls aged three or seven, they dress up traditional clothes "Kimono". Most of their family visit the shurine. When I was a child, I go to Shinto shurine for a blessing with my family. Then, I ate "Chitose-ame". "Chitose-ame" is long red and white candy. In Japan, red and white are considered lucky. These color is often used to a celebration. The means of "Chitose-ame" is to hope childrens growth. It was made long.

Pet peeves

Hi.Today,I talk about pet peeves.

1.It drives me crazy when things are not going as I expect.
2.It drives me crazy when I was bitten by a lot of mosquitoes.
3.It drives me crazy when I'm in a crowded train.
4.It drives me crazy when the train has been delayed.
5.It bugs me when my host brother cry many times in a day.
6.It bugs me when someone speak in a loud voice till late at night.

Accomplishment

Hi. I talk about an accomplishment. When I was junior high school student, I beloged to brass band club. I played the clarinet . It was so difficult and hard for me because I had never played the instrument. I practiced hard with my friends everyday. We wanted to go the East Japan Contest. This contest is similar to the whole country contest. We tryed to go there. The practice was not only play the instrument. There are also hard muscle training. Our school band participated in contest of festival. It was playgng the instrument while we were dancing. We needed play skill and physical strength. We sometimes practiced dancing, other times practiced playing. We practiced before school,after school and holiday. My life revolved around brass band club. Fainly, we could go to the East Japan Contest twice. This memory was important for me. It was great experience.
Then I learnd making efforts one after another it is important. I can experience the great shool life.

Last weekend

Hi!Today, let me tell you about last weekend.

June 6,I went to pool with my host family. There was their friend's house.Then I was surprised! The house was very huge! I thought it was the facility. There were pool, basket goal, swing etc... Probably,this is the most of big house in my memory.

 


I played fire fifighting with children. I was role of fire. When I closed them,I was squirted water.Then I was applying a mascara. Almost my mascara removed. Lol  It makes my host mother laugh. My face looks like "zombie"! I felt a little angry inside. However, I overlooked them because I like children! The day was so exciting!

June 7, I went to my friend's host brather's birthday party. My friend is Akemi. Her host mother is Thai. I ate many kind of Thai food first time. Its was spicy and so delicious! I had a good time!

 

My last weekend was so exciting!

→ It's is bad things eat with having a rice bowl

→Japanese often bow.In Japan, we bow before and after class. When someone make way for us, most of Japanese bow.

４say " itadakimasu" before eat meal.
→This mean is "appreciation"( translate in English literally→I will eat). There are two means in  it. First,we appreciate people who made meal. Second, There are live the animals. Japanese consider give their live.

５say " gochisousamadeshita" after ate meal
→This mean is also "appreciation"(translate in English literally→I finished eating).

６wear the except white dress when you attend the wedding
→The white dress is only blide.

７wear the black clothes when you attend the funeral
→When we celebrate, we wear the light color clothes. On the other hand, when people die we wear the black clothes.

８Elder person sit on the most distance from the door
Young people and low position people should sit near the door.

９walk left side on the way
→I think almost people in the world walk right side on the way. In Japan, we walk left side. I don't know the reason.

１０arrive on time
Most of Japanese are punctual. The train come on time.

Last weekend

Hi! I'm Ayana.Let me tell you about last weekend.

May 30,I went to a movie theater with my friends before class.We watched "MALEFICENT".It was a nice story. I was impressed.

After school, we went to Gyu-kaku.
This is the Japanese BBQ restaurant. It was so delicious. I want to go there again.

May 31,I went to Night Market with my classmate.The day,I went to there first time.When I arrived at Night Market,I and Yui ate ramen.It was good.

Mika and Grace was eating the karaage. The karaage is one of the most famous Japanese food. It's a very popular among young people.

 




There were many Japanese food. For example, Yakisoba,Takoyaki,Karaage and more. I wanted to eat eveverything.

 

It was so exciting days. I want to go there again.  I had a nice weekend.

My Introduction

Hi.I'm Ayana.

Today,I'm going to tell you about me.

First,I introduce my home town.I'm from Japan,Kanagawa. I live in Kamakura. I grew up there.Kamakura city is very nice place. A lot of people visit here every year. There are many traditional templs, famous place,popular souvenir shops and more.Nature is also beautiful.If you come here,you will be able to see mountains and the ocean. I like my home town so much.

 

Second,I write about when I was a child.I have learnd a calligraphy for 4 years. I have a six gread. When I was a junior high school student and high school student,I belonged to brass band club.I have played the clarinet for 6 years.I learned  not only playing but also many things. In my brass band life,the most good memory is the East Japan Contest.I went to the East Japan Contest twice.Then I spent many times with my brass band team everyday.I think this experience made my character.These memory are important for me.I had a exciting and precious time.I like a music so much.
